Alyssa shared helm duties as the tour continues thru Monroe Harbor and passed Buchingham Fountain.
Ashley found that it was a hard job watching out for other boats and had Heather (in the doorway) help keep a watchful eye.
Heather and Karen prefered to watch the sites as we left Burnham harbor. McCormick Place is in the background.
Julie found the "back porch" a comfortable place to avoid the heat of the sun and was joined by Sheryl and Alyssa. Meggs Airport is in the background.
Chicago Power Squadron members P/R/C Robert Murphy, SN and Lt. John Kuehn, SN relaxed in the comfortable seats behind the helm. Bob taught the girls about aides to navigation while John showed them several useful knots. Heather found John's stories humorous.

All the scouts left with the knowledge of how to properly tie their shoes so the bows go vertically.

Lt/C Dave Schuppert, SN organized this outing which focused around the Girl Scout requirements for a boating merit bage.

P/C Joan Eichorst, SN and her "magic sewing machine" will create custom badges for the occasion.

Two Winter lecture are planned to complete additional badge requirements. Weather and plotting.

<1-- /a --> Amber, Janice, Katrina, Sheryl, Alyssa are regaining their "land legs" as the days events ended. They are all eager to go again next year.
